Who We Are
Volunteers for Christ (VFC) is a campus ministry on the University of Tennessee campus that seeks to glorify God through proclaiming and demonstrating the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through personal outreach and evangelism to new students and through training and encouraging servant leadership in the students involved in VFC. VFC is operated by a staff that consists of the director of VFC and currently seven full-time interns. This staff seeks to serve 500+ students with discussion groups, Bible studies, training classes (known as Fuel Groups), weekly campus-wide meetings, special events, and two annual conferences.

Servant Leadership
VFC seeks to equip students to become servant leaders inside and outside of VFC. Once students graduate, VFC hopes that they will go out into their communities equipped with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and become faithful, servant leaders. Hopefully, communities such as Knoxville will become filled with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a new generation of servant leaders.

VFC seeks to equip students to become servant leaders through the VFC Mission Team. The Mission Team is currently a team of seventy-five college students that exists to serve behind the scenes, learn the value of humility and service, and be student leaders on campus. The Mission Team acts as the hands and feet of VFC. They practically fulfill and aim for the completion of VFC's mission, goals, and priorities. They also provide leadership on campus, operate under the direction of the VFC staff and be trained as future leaders of VFC.

VFC also seeks to equip students to become servant leaders through training classes called Fuel Groups. These Fuel Groups seek to disciple students in Biblical principles, such as evangelism, humility, service, and many others.

Community Building
VFC is built on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. VFC exists to spread the Gospel to students on the University of Tennessee campus. VFC desires to see students' lives become transformed for the glory of God. These students will not stay in college forever, and it is VFC's aim that by being involved in VFC these students will graduate and become trustworthy, joyful, caring, and faithful members of society that seek to build into their communities.

VFC loves the local church. VFC understands its role as a campus ministry and is aware that it is limited in the function that a local church provides. Therefore, VFC encourages students to be faithfully involved in serving and leading in a local church. This participation better serves the students and the community in which they live.

Where Support Goes
VFC is funded solely by the charitable donations of others. The support that VFC receives goes directly to VFC's operating budget. Without this support, there is no VFC. All of the money that VFC uses for conferences, events, supplies, general funds, promotion, advertising, and intern salaries is provided by support. Please consider partnering with VFC in order that VFC could grow and become more effective in its efforts to meet its goal: glorifying God through proclaiming and demonstrating the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ accomplished through personal outreach and evangelism to new students and through training and encouraging servant leadership in the students involved in VFC.
